2024 Edition

30, 31 august & 1 september

Iznajazz is conceived as a amazing party with the best live musicthat takes place in the most interesting and emblematic spaces in the wonderful town of Iznájar.

In this, its 4th edition, Saturday night's performances will make us vibrate with the intensity of Soul music.

Before that, we will start by dancing swing in a dance workshop and enjoy the performance of a majestic Big Band; we will delight in the delicacy and humor of an "a cappella" performance, experience music with the family, in the streets, or enveloped in the elegance of the main church, ending with a combination of Blues flavor and paella.

Three days in which we will live music even in our sleep...

Iznájar

More than a Stage

Iznájar

More than a Stage

All Iznajazz performances take place on the streets, in the most emblematic places of the old town: The Castle and old Alcazaba, Calle Real, Paseo de la Constitucion and Plaza Nueva.
Iznájar is not just the place where it happens, it is one of the protagonists of the festival. The beauty and singularity of its spaces, as well as the interaction of the performances with them, make this festival unique. Aspects such as shade or the proximity of catering services have been taken into consideration, to allow attendees the ability to enjoy each space at the ideal time and conditions.

Lavin Band

Under the direction of Alejandro Tamayo and Miguel de Gemma, 27 musicians from the jazz association of Granada "Ool Ya Koo" bring to life a repertoire ranging from the classic swing of Duke Ellington or Count Basie to Latin and funk. They have performed in venues such as the Big Bands Encounter of Priego de Córdoba and the International Swing Festival of Monachil.

The staging of a big band is the ultimate expression of jubilation and finesse, a true popular celebration that, in another era, filled ballrooms and fortunately, still thrives. Sophisticated arrangements, a seductive rhythm, and the power of a large wind band will transport us to the era of the great swing bands.

Steam Brass Band (a family concert)

Did you know that brass bands were traditionally associated with their participation in funerals and burials of African American individuals? Contrary to white tradition, these formations played upbeat music to celebrate the life of the deceased. In this family session, you will discover how modern New Orleans music began and how its spirit has evolved to this day.

Steam Brass Band

The steampunk-style brass band from Murcia adapts the most modern and well-known songs of our time to the wind and percussion instruments of the legendary bands of New Orleans, using steam-powered machines. With a retro-futuristic touch inspired by the Victorian era, their main mission is to make you jump, sing, and dance through a journey across space and time. Because music unites us all, even across different eras.

Aurora de Iznájar

If you sleep in Iznájar for the first time, you might think you hear delicate music gradually approaching your window from afar, only to softly fade away again.... You are not dreaming; you have the privilege of experiencing an ancient tradition: thanks to the "La Aurora de Iznájar" association, the custom of walking through the town’s streets performing these beautiful "Coplas de la Aurora" during the early mornings of the last Saturdays of each summer is kept alive.

Guitars, bandurrias, lutes, percussion, melodica, or violin accompany the voices that bring this emotional music and lyrics, born from the imagination of the ancient inhabitants of Iznájar, something you won't hear anywhere else. It is not a festival performance; Iznajazz simply includes it in its program so that it does not go unnoticed by anyone who visits Iznájar during these days.
